Skill India International Centres(SIICs)

Product Section Description

Skill India International Centres take forward the government's vision to establish India as the skill capital of the world. SIICs aim at reducing the cost and time for international mobility of Indian youth and developing a trusted network for information, training, testing and recruitment at one place. The SIICs will help create a 'Trusted workforce supply chain' by ensuring skilled mobility from India in a fair and transparent manner. Through the SIICs skilling and ethical migration for recruitment from India can be ensured.

  • Services offered at SIICs to a candidate are- counselling (including awareness regarding safe, legal and ethical emigration), domain skills assessment, domain skill training, soft skills, culture immersion and pre departure orientation training, language training, administrative facilitation as well as post placement support.
  • At present 02 SIIC’s are operational in India- SIIC Varanasi at ITI Karaundi and SDI Bhubaneswar. Further 05 SIIC’s are in the process of being roll

  • The MOU between National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) & Takamol for Business Services (TAKAMOL) was signed in 2019.
  • The pilot phase benchmarking 5 occupations commenced in 2023, where candidates undergo a competency-based exam (theoretical and practical) in their respective fields of specialisation at the accredited SVP testing centres in India.
  • The successful completion of the pilot phase led to the formal rollout of the project, marked by the signing of the agreement on 15th May 2023.
  • 41 testing centers have been successfully accredited under the program.
  • 233 assessors are actively part of SVP across the centers.
  • Over 82,000 candidates have been successfully registered under the program, and over 82,000 have been successfully assessed.

Overseas Skill Centres of Excellence to provide scalable, culturally aligned, and internationally benchmarked skill development ecosystem are proposed to be setup in Gulf Cooperation Council(GCC) countries. Such centres under a new Joint Venture (JV) will implement and integrate future skills initiatives aligned with economic modernization vision of the host countries.
