Cisalu, a single mother of four from Kohima, Nagaland, had always been passionate about tailoring and
used to run a small business. Despite her skills and creativity, she struggled to provide for her family and dreamed of expanding her business but was unable to do so. Her life took a transformative turn when she learned about the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, which offered her the support she needed to pursue her entrepreneurial aspirations. Cisalu first heard about the scheme from a neighbour and was thrilled to learn the benefits it provides.
After registering herself, Cisalu completed the basic training and was excited to receive a toolkit worth
₹15,000. She then applied for the loan offered by the scheme.

The loan allowed her to purchase fabrics and tools to improve her workshop, which she has set up in her home for the time being. Cisalu’s story showcases the profound impact of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme in empowering artisans and transforming lives. Through determination and the right support, she improved her tailoring business, securing a brighter future for her children. She serves as an inspiration to other single mothers in her community, demonstrating that with hard work and support, dreams can become reality.

The integration of PMKVY 4.0 with Sainik Schools has redefined skill development by introducing cadets to cutting-edge technologies like drone operations, robotics, AI, and electronics. Spearheaded by leaders such as Shri Rakesh Mittal, Air Commodore S. Jacob, CMDE Rajesh Kumar Sharma, and Col. Vijay Rana, this initiative aligns with the National Education Policy 2020 and positions Sainik Schools as Skill India Centers. With over 1,718 cadets trained in drone technology and 1,026 earning PMKVY certifications, the program is bridging the gap between defense preparedness and civilian career opportunities. Facilitated by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), industry partnerships, and visionary leadership, PMKVY 4.0 is equipping cadets with technical skills, leadership qualities, and a future-ready mindset—empowering them to thrive in both military and modern civilian roles.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) RPL 4.0 scheme, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Nasik successfully implemented a large-scale skill development initiative for its workforce during 2024–2025. In collaboration with the Aerospace and Aviation Sector Skill Council (AASSC) and the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), around 200 workmen were enrolled and trained in the trades of Aerospace Structural Fitter and Aerospace CNC Machinist. Experienced HAL executives, recognized and enrolled as Trainers by NSDC, delivered both classroom and on-the-job training. To date, 100 workmen have been assessed and 75 awarded “Certificate of Upskilling,” with assessment for the remaining 125 underway. HAL Nasik plans to train an additional 180 workmen under the scheme. The initiative has been well received by the workforce, and the continued support from NSDC has been instrumental in its success.

The Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) 4.0 has been a turning point for Megha Vishwanath Sativadekar from Thane, Maharashtra. With limited means and big aspirations, Megha enrolled in the Metal Setter course at GJSCI’s JOSH – Andheri (E), Seepz – SEZ. Supported by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), the training equipped her with industry-relevant skills in the Gems & Jewellery sector. After excelling in her assessment, she was placed at Sun Jewels, where her dedication quickly earned her recognition, a salary of ₹20,000/month, and an upcoming promotion. Megha’s story reflects the powerful impact of PMKVY 4.0 and NSDC in transforming lives by bridging skill gaps and creating pathways to financial independence and career growth.

Central Tool Room & Training Centre (CTTC), Kolkata, established under t Technical Cooperation Program, plays a key role in the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) by imparting industry-relevant skill development training in areas like Advanced Manufacturing, IT-ITES, Electrical, and Electronics.
Since its inception in 1976, CTTC has supported the SME sector by providing hands-on training, product design, mould making, and precision machining. With state-of-the-art facilities and residential accommodation for 1200 boys and 250 girls, the center ensures a hygienic and supportive learning environment. Under PMKVY 4.0, CTTC Kolkata has successfully placed 31 candidates as Assistant Machinists and Assistant Electronic Mechanics with an average monthly salary of ₹15,000–₹20,000, showcasing its commitment to bridging the skill gap and fostering economic growth.

Payel Roy Majumder, a young woman from South Tripura, turned her dreams into reality by breaking societal norms and pursuing financial independence. Despite only studying up to Class 10 and facing doubts from those around her, she courageously enrolled in a skill development program in injection moulding at CIPET Agartala under PMKVY 4.0. In a male-dominated field, Payel mastered machine operations through sheer determination. Her hard work paid off when she secured a job at Ananda Spices Industry, earning a stable income and proving her capabilities. Today, she stands as a symbol of hope and inspiration, showing that with the right skills and unwavering spirit, anything is possible
